More and more photographers and tourists with nice cameras are being unfairly targeted. Even the use of a tripod is considered inappropriate without permission in some places. I was recently told by a security guard that I was not allowed to photograph shadows on the side of a public commercial building in downtown Ottawa. <BR/><BR/>What a shame that many photographers are now afraid to capture street scenes and public celebrations for fear of being fined or sued. Demanding fees for the supposed right to take photographs is unfair and offensive. If we give in to these new policies, we will soon be unable to photograph monuments, buildings, people, parks and anything else that some bureaucrat decides to add to his list. Soon there will be no point for tourists to even take a camera along on a vacation.<BR/><BR/>Thank you for doing the research on copyrights and sharing it in your blog. I have printed a copy of the Copyright Act and will keep it with me in my camera bag.
