Nature's Fireworks
I had planned on going to a fireworks show in downtown Nanaimo last night, but this weird storm cell came through about an hour before the show started. From our place, it looked like the downtown area was going to get some major rain, and I really didn't feel like taking pics in a downpour. So instead of going downtown, I stood on the deck and took in the spectacular show Mother Nature provided.
She actually provided two spectacular shows last night. From our back yard, we got this lighning show and from our front yard we got one of the most beautiful sunsets ever (I'll post that pic later).
In hindsight, I should have gone downtown...it would have been really cool to get fireworks and lightning in a single shot....
I really have to thank my wife for helping with this shot...she is absolutely incredible at anticipating when the strikes will happen. I'll eventually post a shot she got - seven bolts in a single exposure!
