Dinner Cruise

A dinner cruise yacht passes along Chicago's "Gold Coast" as the sun sets on Lake Michigan.

Chicago River

New and old architecture lines the Chicago River. To the left is the new Trump Tower, which will be amont the world's tallest buildings once completed. In the background (with the spire/steeple) is the historic Chicago Tribune Building.

Cloud Gate - Chicago

The Cloud Gate - a stainless steel sculpture in Chicago's Millennium Park - is more commonly known to the locals as "The Bean." Millennium Park and The Bean in general is one of my favorite spots in Chicago.

Future Plumber

These kids were enjoying a hot spring day at Chicago's Millenium Park and I couldn't help but notice how the kid on the right has the potential to be a plumber some day.

As I was taking these pics, I was approached by a park security guard telling me I wasn't allowed to take pics of children. Knowing my rights, I told him I could photography practically anything I want in public. He went away without further incident.

There seems to be a paranoia about photographers out there, so make sure you know your rights when it comes to photography.

The top of Hancock

Later on Monday, I was at a function on the 95th floor of the Hancock Building. It was a bit hazy, but at least there was a view. The talles building in the background is the Sears Tower.

What a difference a day makes

After an incredibly frigid day on Sunday, the temps on Monday shot into the mid 80 - and the skies cleared so you could see all the way to the top of the Hancock Building.

Head in the clouds

I haven't posted for a while because I've been in Chicago for five days. When I landed there on Saturday night, it was about 70 degress. By Sunday morning the temp dropped to about 40 and didn't recover much during the day. I almost froze my butt off walking three blocks to my conference centre, which was just across the street from the 96-storey John Hancock Building. The clouds were so low, about one-third of the building wasn't visible from the ground.

Lake Michigan
