If you have never been to Butchart Gardens in Victoria at Christmas, I can't recommend it enough - especially if you are into night photography. My parents were visiting for Christmas and I took them there for dinner on Boxing Day. The dinner was just as spectacular as this view.

The circle of life
A salmon heads up stream early in the spawning season at Goldstream Park near Victoria. I'm hoping to make it down to Goldstream again this weekend. Maybe there will be more activity this time.

Woo Hoo!

I entered this pic of my daughter and her friend on the ferry into the 2007 Victoria Tourism photo contest and it was picked as a finalist. It's the first photo contest I ever entered and I have no idea why this shot would have been picked. I don't think I have a hope in hell of winning, but it feels pretty good just to have been picked as a finalist.
